About This Event
Entering its 14th year, Thaiger Uppercut Championship 2026 (TGU) continues one of Thailand's longest running annual fighting game tournament traditions. The three day event brings international competition to the Bangkok metropolitan area, with Street Fighter 6 anchoring a broad lineup of fighting games, community tournaments, and activities beyond the main brackets. Returning to The Portal Ballroom at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, TGU combines established competitive tournaments with opportunities for players and spectators to engage with Thailand's fighting game community.
The Street Fighter 6 competition features both singles and 3v3 team tournaments, giving competitors two distinct formats across the weekend. The main singles bracket is scheduled for Saturday, while the team competition takes place Friday under a last player standing format with first to one game matches and a first to two game grand final. The event also includes a women only Street Fighter 6 and TEKKEN 8 competition through Queens Clash. Unlike several other main tournaments on the schedule, the Street Fighter 6 bracket has no confirmed Capcom Pro Tour designation or associated qualification reward announced in the available event details.
Beyond Street Fighter 6
TGU 2026 features an extensive main tournament lineup, including TEKKEN 8 as a Tekken World Tour Master event, Guilty Gear -Strive- as an ARC World Tour Gold+ Event, and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising as a GBVS World Tour five star event. Other featured games include 2XKO, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Additional community brackets span classic and modern fighting games, including Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and BlazBlue: Central Fiction. The wider program includes casual play, bring your own console setups, workshops, retro games and toys, artist and vendor areas, and an after party. Competitors register through start.gg, with individual tournament entry fees listed separately from the event pass.
