Good 8 Squad Runs It Back With Unchanged Roster for SFL 2026

Good 8 Squad enters Street Fighter League 2026 with the same four players who won it a title in 2024, making no changes to a roster that's already produced a world championship.

The Roster Stays the Same

Good 8 Squad confirmed its final Street Fighter League roster for the upcoming season, and it's the lineup fans already know. Gachikun, Kawano, Pugera and Sahara are all back, the same group that captured the 2024 SFL title and went on to win the Street Fighter League World Championship.

The reveal doubled as a jersey unveiling, with the team's new gear now carrying a sponsorship from REGZA, a Japanese television brand. G8S also ran an exhibition tournament as part of the event, which Sahara won, taking home a mini LED TV in the process.

Four Names, One Familiar Core

Gachikun has led the team since 2021 and has two championships to show for it. Kawano has built a reputation as the player G8S turns to when a match needs to be closed out, while Pugera has been a consistent points scorer in team format events. Sahara, the most recent addition to the roster, has kept climbing since making the jump from Fortnite into Street Fighter 6. He enters the new season as reigning Capcom Cup champion and finished last year's league with 120 points, second only to Kei.B, who topped the standings at 140 and took home the season MVP award.

Division Showdown First, Season Opener August 25

G8S won't have to wait long to get back on stage. The Pre-Season Division Showdown runs August 10 and 11, an exhibition event pitting Division S against Division F, with the winning division earning home court advantage for the first round of the SFL Japan Grand Finals. The regular Street Fighter League Japan 2026 season then opens on August 25, and that's where G8S will find out if running back a title-winning roster was the right call.
